The Roses

I had the privelage of photographing  Jesse and Aishas’ wedding in New Jersey last week. Beautiful couple, beautiful culture.

Our family lost a really great man over the weekend. Without a doubt the wisest soul I’ve ever known.

When despair grows in me and I wake in the middle of the night at the least sound in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be, I go and lie down where the wood drake rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds. I come into the peace of wild things who do not tax their lives with forethought of grief. I come into the presence of still water. And I feel above me the day-blind stars waiting for their light. I’m trying to power out Africa photos and actually work on the video I’ve been needing to put together. I don’t know what happened when I got back to the States, my motivation left me for a bit but I’m making a conscious effort to get this stuff out and to the school so they can begin to promote themselves adequately. Wish me luck.

Fun Fun Fun in the Cold Cold Cold

Andrew Stonestreet is currently staying in my home while in the midst of his recording here in Nashville.  Instead of charging him a nightly fee I force him to stand outside in the cold while I snap pictures of him… that’s why he looks so stern. We’ve been drinking cheap beer and contemplating the meaning of life without much conclusion.

Last Days

Lauren and I spent the last few nights of our journey resting and gathering our thoughts…

…It wasn’t enough to combat the snow when we got off the plane today in the WV.
